Transitioning to an A Licensed skydiver from an AFF student is like earning your driver’s license after carrying a learner’s permit. You gain a whole lot of confidence – and freedom – in the process.
To earn your USPA A License you’ll need to complete a series of 25 jumps (some solo and some with a coach), showcase skills mastery, and pass an oral and written test. Following a successful check-out dive, you get your glorious A License. A-holders can jump solo with peers, perform approved group jumps, pack their own canopies, and experiment with water landings.
Students can earn their A License at their own pace, but most candidates complete the coursework within two weeks.
